Want To Use WordPress.org? You’ll Need A Hosting Service
If you’ve been wanting to get a WordPress.org blog then you’ll need a hosting service, but make sure they have excellent customer service. The worse thing you could possibly do is go with a crappy company just to save an extra $3 a month!
Here’s a much to common scenario:
You’re getting ready to launch a product or send people to an affiliate page you’ve built to promote another person’s stuff, and if you’ve done what you’ve probably been told one billion times, you TEST, TEST, TEST before kicking it off! You go to your site to look everything over for the last time and it’s the dreaded “Not Found” page and there’s only a few hours left before the official launch or emailing!! AAAAAhhhhhh!

Now it’s a mad dash to customer support so the problem can be addressed and hopefully fixed in time and what do ya know; there are crickets on the other end of the phone line and the support tickets you’re submitting at a neck-breaking pace aren’t even getting acknowledged let alone resolved!
Here are a few ways to avoid the above disaster:
- Go with HostGator. They have phenomenal customer support and I’ve never stayed on hold for more than 8 minutes… seriously!
- Avoid the cheapest hosting package!! When you invest in the cheapest hosting package you’ll find yourself sharing a single server with hundreds of people. All it takes is for one of those people to break any of the CAN-SPAM laws and the entire server gets shut down!
The next post will be covering how to choose a domain name for your upcoming WordPress blog; what’s a good domain name and what sucks!! Until then, “Take It Easy My Friends” and thanks for stopping by ![]()
