Your Domain Name Should Be “Keyword Rich”

Published by theobaskind at 6:08 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Keyword rich domain name? If you’re wondering what I mean by that allow me to explain… Keywords are words someone will use when searching for information on a particular topic, product or service. If you have a product or service you’d like to offer the world, proper keyword usage will help your customers find you.

Now how does this pertain to choosing  a domain name for your blog? Keyword rich domain names are much more beneficial then something way out there just because it sounds cool. Here’s a good starter test for you.

  • write down 5 potential domain names for your blog…
  • pick 3 good ones, walk away and take a breather…
  • come back and pick your favorite one out of the remaining 3…
  • find a friend, co-worker or significant and pull them aside…
  • tell them the potential name of your new blog…
  • if they look at you like you just had a seizure and spoke in tongues…

…It may not be a good choice!
If you are going to build a blog about yoga it would be a good idea to have the word yoga in the domain name, don’t you think? Now if you’d like to know more feel free to visit TheoBaskind.com.
